We continue with the news related to the confirmation of drivers and teams for the FIA World Rallycross Championship 2017! The latest team to get on the WorldRX car is the French team DA Racing, who will venture to complete the championship together with the pilot Jean-Baptiste Dubourg. The Frenchman already made his pinitos in this championship and rose to the podium in the LoheacRX of the year 2015.
“It’s very exciting to be able to commit full time to World RX,” said JB Dubourg, who turns 30 this year. “Having the opportunity to compete not only with the best rallycross riders but also with motorsport in general is a childhood dream come true. The commitment of this program is a new step in the ambitious Team DA Racing-Eurodatacar project that Was started in 2012. I will have the pleasure of driving a WRX 208 developed in Peugeot Sport workshops in recent years, whose reliability and performance are indisputable.
JB Dubourg will not be racing alone, he will have team mate WTCC driver Gregoire Demoustier, who will play five rounds of RX in the second car of the team. “It was impossible to resist the appeal of rallycross,” Demoustier admitted. “I’ve seen the World RX live on L’Equipe, the races are very impressive and the races are physical, it reminds me of my experience of the Andros Trophy.” In World RX, I am entering a new universe, I have everything to discover. Of the race with the qualifying races, the elimination system for the final stages and of course the return of the joker is totally different from what I’m used to, but I think it’s a very interesting format. ”
On the other hand the team Marklund Motorsport has presented the design of its two vehicles, with which Anton Marklund and Magda Andersson for the camper EuroRX 2017. The team has decided after three years in the WorldRX give a change of course and focus on the Talent development at EuroRX, and try to get the maximum possible podiums this season.
“I look forward to working with Marklund Motorsport and I am very happy to have the opportunity to compete with one of the best rallycross teams in the world, with one of the best Supercars,” says the young Swedish driver.
Anton Marklund, who has spent the last few years in the RX World Championship, will focus on developing his driving experience and winning with an increase in a racing circuit program in 2017 along with his Euro RX commitments.
“I am very happy to have my plans for the next season already established at this point of the year,” Marklund said. “Even if it is going to be less rallycross, it will give me time to do more racing circuit. 2017 will be a year in which I will focus on development as a driver and gaining different experiences.”
