Three names and a championship, the end of the season comes to Africa.
There are three names that are in the pools of possible king of rallycross this season. A season that has been characterized as the most exciting and even in the history of this sport.
The South African circuit of Killarney International Raceway will witness the final battle of the FIA World Rallycross Championship 2019 season between the three big favorites, The Brothers of Team Peugeot MJP and Andres Bakkerud of Monster Energy RX Cartel are the proper names that have set the pace This year on the circuits.
Meet the three DRIVERS:
Timmy Hansen – 187 pts
Timmy is the current leader of the competition, a driver who despite his youth is a veteran in the rallycross circuits. Despite having suffered some bump this season is the driver with the most races won this season, specifically 4 (Latvia, Loheac, Silverstone and Barcelona). The Puegeot 208RX has proven to be one of the most reliable cars on the grill and will certainly be one of the fastest in Cape Town.
Timmy has stayed at the gates of glory in previous seasons but this may be the year of the Swedish pilot, who dreams of emulating his father Kenneth Hansen, his current coach and team leader who dominated the European circuit for more than a decade .
Andreas Bakkerud – 186pts
The 28-year-old Norwegian driver is running as the great opponent to beat this season. Throughout the year he has starred in great battles against Timmy and his brother Kevin. Especially this season, which began with a serious mistake on his part that ended an ugly clash with Timmy Hansen that left both of them offside in Abudhabi. The Norwegian has been very reliable during all the races in which he has lived based on the podium and his peak moment was the victory in Canadian lands. It will be a difficult driver to beat and for many it is the top favorite over Timmy
Kevin Hansen – 179pts
The little one of the Hansen has sneaked into the fight for the title, he already demonstrated years ago winning the EuroRX that he is a pilot hungry for victory, and that he is the little one of the two brothers but has managed to maintain some regularity during all races of the championship and still has mathematical options to qualify for the absolute title.
November 9 and 10 is the weekend that will put an end to a season that has made us vibrate with emotion race after race in a season that has made us enjoy as children.
