The sixth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship comes framed in a magical weekend: It will take place at the iconic circuit in Höljes, Sweden. This year HoljesRX celebrates its 40th anniversary, meaning it has lasted four decades embracing rallycross races.
Between 3rd and 5th July, the population from Höljes will turn in rallycross. For the first time this season all categories will participate together: SuperCar, Touringcar, S1600 and RX Lites. Thus, the entry list is extended up to 89 cars, the highest in this 2015. 35 of these belong to the top category, the SuperCars.
In the first edition of the FIA World Rallycross Championship last year was a local driver who took victory in SuperCars: Mattias Ekstrom. “Last year was very special – to win with your own team and doing it only in the third race. This victory was one of the best moments in my entire life and it always will be. I feel that Höljes is one of the traks where my driving style and our car fits the best. I promise a big show for our local fans this weekend. ”
Alongside Ekström, this weekend 28 Swedish pilots will compete, here are some of them: Kristoffersson, Timmy Hansen, Robin Larsson, Anton Marklund, Alx Danielsson and PG Andersson. The female pilot Ramona Karlsoon will participate in the European Rallycross and there will also be the youngest driver to have managed to get on the podium in Touringcar category, the Swedish Magda Andersson of only 16 years.
After this race there will remain only 3 rounds to reach the 10th, which will be held at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya on 19th and 20th September: BarcelonaRX.
