It seems that WorldRX tends to recover those great stars of the WRC. First was Solberg, then Loeb and now, Marcus Gronholm, but this time represented by his son Niclas.
Niclas Gronholm will team with Kevin Eriksson in the Olsbergs MSE, with Marcus as the team manager and Andreas Eriksson as the owner. Parents and children will form a team with great bet for the future, as both drivers arre only 19 years old. Both already have some rallycross titles and the team’s goal is to create the future world champions.
Both Niclas and Kevin will compete in all 12 rounds of WorldRX 2016, which begins next April in Montalegre, Portugal (15-17) and also in the BarcelonaRX appointment on 17 and 18 September at the Circuit de Barcelona- Catalunya. In addition, both drivers will also compete in some of the national races in their countries.
With the creation of the new team, some rumors are coming out referring to Marcus Gronholm. It seems that his son must complete mandatory military service and therefore there is a possibility that he might lose some of the WorldRX races. In that case, Marcus options to compete on this possible occasion arise.
