SÉBASTIEN LOEB HAPPY TO COME BACK TO BARCELONA - CatalunyaRX FIA World Rallycross

INTERVIEW WITH THE WRC 9 TIMES WORLD CHAMPION, THIS YEAR IS MAKING THE WORLDRX FULL SEASON

How is going your first season in the FIA World Rallycross?

It is going very well. I’m trying to pick up the pace, some races have gone quite well, iothers were hard to finish. The overall level growed a lot this season in  WorldRX so unfortunately we couldn’t be competitive in all the races. We are working and solving everything, trying to be as much competitive as we can. I hope we can fix it and have a good season at the end.

What do you like most in Rallycross?

I likeit because is very intense. That is a very hard sport, full of adrenaline in every race start, and the win is almost in the first corner, so you have a lot of pressure. Driving here is very intense, you don’t have much time to think, breathe, it’s a turn after turn race with a powerfull car.

Few years ago you were competing with Petter Solberg in the WRC. How do you feel compeiting with him again?

Is nice, but it will be even better when I can beat him! Hehe. I used to be ahead in WRC and now he is in rallycross. Our goal is to try to be better in order to be ahead of him.

Solberg took the victory last year in Barcelona. Do you think you can win this 2016?

It is very hard to know. Right now we are not very quick on hi speed straight tracks. We have some problems with the engine and this could affect us in Barcelona. Anyway, we’ll try to do my best and try to win.

Are you happy to come back to Barcelona?

Yes of course! I have very good memories from Barcelona. The Catalunya Rally was one of my favorites. The atmosphere there was awesome. I’m happy to be back.
