Mattias Ekström has taken his second consecutive victory in the WorldRX. This weekend the third round of the championship, held in the Belgian town of Mettet, Ekström has returned to dominate with his Audi S1 RX.
The Swedish driver was fastest in 3 of the 4 qualifying sessions, demonstrating from the start that this weekend was going for broke. “This was definitely one of my best weekends of my career!” said Ekström after reaching his second consecutive win WorldRX 2016. Thanks to this great victory, the pilot of EKSRX exceeds Petter Solberg in classification championship and is in first place with 78 points.
Sébastien Loeb has reached the first podium of the WorldRX in Mettet . The Team Peugeot-Hansen driver has only needed three rounds of the WorldRX to finish in the top 3 of a round. The 9 times WRC Champion is starting to feel comfortable with his Peugeot 208 and prepared to dominate in rallycross. With this podium he stands in 4th place of the championship.
The Belgian round was also good for Solberg, who got the third position. Still, the reigning WorldRX champion gives some Championship points to his rival Mattias Ekström and stands second with 73 points.
The next round of WorldRX will be on 28 and 29 May 2016 at Lydden Hill, GB.
