Laia Sanz confirms her participation in the BarcelonaRX 2015

Laia Sanz has confirmed her new challenge: the BarcelonaRX. The rider continues making strides in her career and, this time, has accepted the invitation to participate in the FIA World Rallycross Championship to be held at the Circuit de Barcelona- Catalunya on 19 and 20 September 2015.

The Catalan rider is not scared to try new sports and is ready for everything. After participating for the second consecutive year at the 24 hours of endurance at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya last weekend, where she has achieved with her teammate Francesc Gutierrez the 2nd place in their category, Laia is preparing to meet a new sport for her: rallycross. The pilot from Corbera de Llobregat will compete in the RX Lites category where Supercars drivers are formed.

I am thrilled to participate in the BarcelonaRX. It is a new type of event for me, but I like to try new things. At the same time a little self-conscious because it is a new modality for me, but I like everything that works with gasoline.”

What are the RX Lites?

Laia will drive a RX Lites, a car with 310hp, 2.400cc, 300Nm of torque and all four wheels traction to try to provide the best show for the thousands of attendees. To try to get as far as possible in the event, Laia will held a training session with her RX Lites the same week of the BarcelonaRX.

With all this, the Catalan rider will have to face with XXX pilots, among which Kevin Hansen Jr, current championship leader or Sandra Marie Hultgren and Ada Hvaal, two girls who participate in the World Championship and really talented.

A curriculum that continues to grow

Laia has a large sports curriculum and is ready to continue expanding it, adding new milestones. With 13 female trial world titles, 10 European titles in women’s trial, 6 titles in the Trial of Nations, 4 victories in the Dakar Rally female motorbike category, a 9th place overall in the Dakar Rally 2015 – thus achieving the best result a girl in this event -, 3 female enduro world titles, 4 gold medals and a silver cross enduro X Games, now Laia, aims to show her talent on four wheels in the BarcelonaRX.
