FIA WORLD RALLYCROSS CHAMPIONSHIP TRAVELS TO BELGIUM

This week the third round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship will be held at the circuit Jules Tacheny, Mettet in Belgium. After a few days of rest, the pilots and the beasts are already looking forward to the weekend to start making engines roar and reuse the 600cv of the Supercars.

After the celebration of the first two rounds of the FIA World Rallycross Championship 2015 Petter Solberg (Citroen DS3) leads the overall championship. In this third round, he will try to reach the victory again to increase his lead over Johan Kristoffersson (VW Polo R WRX) second and Andreas Bakkerud (Ford Fiesta ST) who is closing the Top-3.

39 registered for the #MettetRX

The entry list for the round to be held this weekend in Belgium is, by far, the largest so far in this championship. A total of 39 SuperCar will participate in Mettet: 17 of them are going to compete in the Supercar Worldwide category while another 22 SuperCar will do it in the European.

But beyond the top category, in Mettet there will also be 25 drivers of Super160 and 16 TouringCar.

François Duval, the local attractiveness

Former Belgian rally driver François Duval will be the big draw for local fans this weekend in Mettet. He is one of the special guests attending the event and he will compete with a Ford Focus SuperCar in the European Championship race. Duval won a round of the World Rally Championship in Australia in 2005.

Moreover, three more Belgian drivers will be in Mettet. Koen Pauwels (Ford Focus) and Ronny Scheveneels (VW Scirocco) with François Duval in SuperCar and Davy Van Den Branden (Citroen DS3) of team OTRT in Super1600.
