In the eighth round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship held this weekend in Norway, team Peugeot-Hansen took a double win. Timmy Hansen scored his first win of the season and Frenchman Davy Jeanney has risen to the second step of the podium. With these results, Team Peugeot-Hansen has four consecutive podiums and thus reaches the top of the team standings of the 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship.
“Finally I have another win! I’ve been wanting this for a long time,” said Hansen, after his first win this 2015.” “The car has been flying all weekend and I am really, really enjoying driving the 208 at the moment. We are just getting better each weekend and now I can’t wait for Loheac – it is one of my favourite circuits and is of course home for both Peugeot and my team-mate Davy.”
The reigning European Rallycross champion, Robin Larsson, has been in charge of closing the top 3: “The last two years have been very unlucky in the circuit of Hell, so this third place is fantastic.”
Petter Solberg, still has no luck on his side. That’s two consecutive races that fails to qualify for the final. This time, after a semifinal where absolutely happened everything, the current leader of the World Championship was hit by Andreas Bakkerud and failed to finish the Heat. However, Solberg finished 7th and continues to lead with a total of 193 points. Timmy Hansen has climbed to second place (152 points) and Andreas Bakkerud has dropped to third place (140 points).
The next round of the FIA World Rallycross Championship 2015 will take place at the French circuit of Loheac, on 5th and 6th September.
