Rallycross future revealed.
Rallycross is one of the pioneering modalities in the transition to electric motorsport and it’s futurte is just revealed for the next two seasons. The FIA World Rallycross Championship will feature a specific category of electric supercars this season, known as Projekt-E series.
Yesterday we met the plans that IMG has, owner of the world rallycross in the face of the 2020 and 2021 seasons, and now we are going to analyze each one of them thoroughly to know what supercars we can enjoy in the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
2020, Projekt-E series is born!
We can enjoy the first race of these electric beasts from May 16 on the Belgian circuit of Spa-Francorchamps. This championship will consist of 5 tests, ending in the LatviaRX scheduled for September 19 and 20!
2021, the year of change:
The real novelties are those that FIA World Rallycross Championship has prepared for us in the next 2021, where we have been able to see how the electric one gains ground and presence of gasoline-burning cars.
The big surprise has been the modification of the queen category of the World Cup, the WorldRX will evolve into a mixed category in which we will see face-to-face clashes between electric and gasoline supercars. The battle between two ages of motorsport is served!
Euro Supercar and Super1600 will remain unchanged, but we say goodbye to the RX2, the little brothers of the supercars will no longer be a modality of the championship.
On the other hand as electric modalities we will continue with the Projekt-E series, to which the FIA eRallycross will be added, a category that will replace the current RX2 series!
These are all the novelties we have for you, remind you once again that the CatalunyaRX fertilizers continue at a special launch price.
