Cohete Suárez joins CatalunyaRX
José Antonio Suárez, better known as Cohete Suárez, will be the Spanish representative of the next CatalunyaRX. The Asturian driver will join the race to be held next Sunday, April 19 on the virtual track of the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya.
Due to the world health crisis situation, the sporting events scheduled for the month of April have been canceled or rescheduled, as is the case of the World RX of Catalunya. Failing that, and to continue making fans of rallycross and motorsport in general enjoy, the FIA World Rallycross Championship is creating the RX Esports, a digital version of the world championship for those events that for now cannot be played in the expected date.
This afternoon the presence of the Spanish driver Cohete Suárez in the first race of this RX Esports has been announced. It will take place on Sunday, April 19, the same original date of the CatalunyaRX 2020 (the new date of the real race is yet to be confirmed by part of the FIA). “I’m going to try to do my best, but the most important thing is that the fans have fun,” says the Spanish driver.
Cohete Suarez joins a starting grid with great drivers like the World Rallycross Champion Johan Kristoffersson; Kevin Hansen, RX 2016 European Champion; double RX2 champion Oliver Eriksson; the British Oliver Bennet; Marius Bermingrud, pilot of the European Super1600; American rallycross pilot Cabot Bigham; or the Dutch Kevin Abbring. Over the next few days the FIA World RX Championship will continue to announce new names.
