Teams and pilots finalize the preparations for the WorldRX of Catalunya (April 14 and 15)

Official WorldRX tests continue in Loheac, France

Loheac has been the scene where some of the best rallycross drivers have been testing their new machines. There are only four weeks left until the start of WorldRX.

Brief summary of the participation of the teams in the tests of the French municipality:

The PSRX Volkswagen, by the hand of the two-time World Rallycross Champion, Petter Solberg, completed a total of 52 laps in his Polo Supercar. The fans also had the opportunity to see the current rallycross champion, Johan Kristoffersson, who also could test the pole in the French circuit, where he has won in the two previous editions.

For its part, EKS Audi Sport premiered its new Audi S1 quattro with a new rear spoiler. Andreas Bakkerud completed more than 40 laps.

Some of the teams that also participated were: Team Peugeot Total (Kevin Hansen 4 laps / Timmy Hansen 48 laps), Olsbergs MSE, G-FORS and STARD.

Timerzyanov joins Gronholm in GRX Taneco Hyundai

GRX TANECO increases its ranks. The team based in Finland has gone from competing with a pilot to having two drivers. The double European Rallycross Champion, Timur Timerzyanov, joins Niclas Gronholm for the Supercars season. Both will drive a Hyundai i20.

The General Director of World RX for IMG, Paul Bellamy, commented: “We are delighted to see GRX TANECO committed to the WorldRX. Not only have they doubled their efforts with two cars, they also show support for Hyundai. ”

Although this will be the first time that Hyundai participates in a WorldRX, the GRX TANECO i20 Supercar, has been developed for rallycross from the World Rally Car category.

Olsberg MSE returns to the World RX with a new Ford Fiesta

The iconic rallycross team, Olsbergs MSE, returns to the World Rallycross Championship with Kevin Eriksson and Robin Larsson.

Eriksson and  Larsson will be in charge of competing for the points in the return of one of the most important teams in the history of the RX.

The riders will wear a new Ford Fiesta Supercar. “2018 is a great year for OMSE as we have developed a completely new car for this campaign. The Ford Fiesta Supercar has a custom engine that has been shown to have a winning propulsive power. ” Eriksson said in the presentation of the team.

The team was founded in 2005 by former Swedish rally champion Andreas Eriksson. Since then, OMSE has garnered a large number of trophies. Among them, several victories and titles in World RX, European RX, RallyX on Ice, Global Rallycross and X Games.

GC Kompetition presents Jérôme Grosset-Janin and Guerlain Chicherit as official pilots

Jérôme Grosset-Janin and Guerlain Chicherit are the confirmed drivers to represent the GCK with a Renault Megane R.S. In addition, the German pilot Timo Scheider, is incorporated as a test and development pilot.

It will be the first time that a Renault completes a whole championship. It will also be the first full season for Grosset, who, at 33, had already participated in some sporadic World RX test.

Reinis Nitiss returns to SET Promotion to fight for the European Rallycross Championship

Reinis Nitiss returns to SET Promotion to seek the World title in the Euro RX. Nitiss joins the Finnish team to compete for the Euro RX that will start next April 14 in Barcelona. The pilot of Latvia will drive a Ford Fiesta RX Supercar.
