– Mattias Ekström has taken advantage of this weekend in Barcelona to participate in the BarcelonaRX – inaugural test of the FIA World Rallycross Championship to visit the Barca team.

On the occasion of the inaugural event of the FIA World Rallycross Championship held this weekend at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, FC Barcelona has warmly welcomed the current champion of this spectacular specialty, the German Mattias Ekström.
The Audi driver was able to enjoy the training of Barca in the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper on Friday, where he also had the opportunity to greet some of the Barça team’s cracks like Ter Stegen, Rakitic or Umtiti. Ekström maintains a very good relationship with the German goalkeeper Ter Stegen, whom he met a couple of years ago, also on the occasion of BarcelonaRX.
This Saturday and Sunday, Ekström will begin the defense of the world title in Barcelona, where last season won the victory. In addition, during the two days we will also be able to see the Audi Topi Heikkinen drivers, Reinis Nittiss, at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, not forgetting big stars in the motor world like Sébastien Loeb, Petter Solberg, Ken Block or Timo Scheider.
The rallycross is a modality that combines in a short layout (1km aprox.) Sections of land and asphalt, has a great jump and the vehicles – called Supercars – have 600cv of power, which allows them to complete 0-100km / h in Less than 2 seconds, faster than a Formula 1. During the two days there will be more than 80 races, show Monster, recall the classic rally cars with a demonstration and off-track, all attendees will enjoy the fan zone, Free paddock access to see first-line drivers, signing autograph session and much more.
